Shortly after publishing Pleasures of Youth I began receiving autobiographical emails from Carina. Her naïve matter-of-factness, freshness and sincerity made her writing as different as faking is, well, to...fucking. Her writing is unusual and compelling.

Totally different, politically and everything

Hi Jan,
well for the moment nobody suspects anything:it is too unlikely that this happens for somebody even think of it.
Anyway, i don't think it will last for a long time.
I'm not in love, nor he is. We are totally different, politically and everything. I think we'll take some pleasure from this and one of us will some day stop. But, of course, we must be very careful.
I'll keep you updated.
